K.I.S.S.!

K.I.S.S. As in "Keep It Super Short." For the record, Jonathan came up with the title of this blog post. (Also for the record, I have veto power, but thought it was pretty good.)

There are some great advantages to having super-short hair, such as drastically reduced shampoo expenses. Fixing it in the morning basically means chasing away the slept-on look by wetting down the parts sticking out and spiking some life into the flat parts. However, one disadvantage of super-short hair is that it needs to be trimmed often. At 26 euros ($39) per visit to the local salon (think Great Clips with attitude) I quickly figured out that any money I was saving on shampoo would be going straight to the coiffeuse.

So I have returned to my old tricks and am cutting my own 'do again. Well, I cut the front and sides and then Jonathan cuts the back to keep it from Euro-mulletting on me. I am pleased to say that I have refined the technique from my college days. My former roommates CC and Amy will be happy to know that I've traded in the Fiskars paper scissors and Swiss Army knife mini-scissors for real hair cutting scissors. I really am quite fancy these days.

And now Jonathan's turn!

Pick your poison.

I wish I had the guts to go super short. Seems so much easier to take care of. It looks super cute on you!

(btw, the deleted comment was mine because I just can't stand a typo!)

I tried cutting my hair once. Never again. Thanks for the shout-out! Make sure you check with the Flanders about July in Budapest!

how very true this post is! i chopped off my hair for summer, however, almost two weeks have gone by and i'm feeling shaggy, not chic. we'll see how gutsy i get!

Oh, please tell me Trey didn't get his hair buzzed! It's bad enough when his brother, Jesse buzzes his hair or worse, when he shaves it. My sons have been blessed with such nice hair. This mother does not understand. I DO appreciate the fact that they do not let the world define who they are...so truly, the hair thing is not important...I keep telling myself.

You're doing a fabulous job! I cut my own hair all through college to save money, and as you recall, it was almost down to my waste. That was interesting. I still cut Chris' to save a little dough, and because anytime he goes anywhere they do a worse job than I do! But he's long overdo at this point...

I'd probably buzz mine high and tight if Meaghan weren't around to protest the idea. Just sounds so much simpler and I wouldn't have to fight that stupid cowlick in the back.

Of course, the buzz would only accentuate the receding hairline, so maybe it's for the best that I don't.

I love your haircut! I stumbled upon your blog from my sister's blog (sweetbriar cottage). I love reading it as it takes me "away" for a bit. :)

sorry for the almost year late comment on this...but since it was a link from today's post I'm ok.
SO..my hair is almost exactly like yours, cut it short back in June. Here in France I can't afford to go and get it cut all the time, so my husband has been cutting it for me...it's pretty fun. Question for you though about the top, because sometimes I feel it looks a little egg like, how do you cut the top? Details please.
