Marriage habits...

We often listen to the radio online and one station we tune in to regularly is doing a feature on marriages. Each day they ask listeners to call in and talk about such-and-such habit (good ones) in their marriage. Yesterday's question was whether you and your spouse go to bed at the same time. Which led to this little conversation...

J: Oh, that's easy. We always do that.

K: We do?

J: Uh, ye-eah. We always go to bed at the same time.

K: I know. I always go to bed when you do.

J: Oh yeah... I guess you're right.

Today's marriage question: do you always hold hands when walking around? This one I think we can both say 'yes' to safely!

I hate heights. But I love cherries. Jonathan knows both of these facts and enjoyed baiting me to climb up the scaffolding.

My partner in crime

My parents' visit went too fast. Ten days is just not enough, but I'm thankful for it nonetheless. Between Snappy McPhoto (Mom) and myself (I am a lot like her...) I think we have about 2,000 photos. That's 200 photos per day, or about 197 more than anyone else might be interested in seeing. So here's just a sampling!

Probably waiting on us to finish snapping photos of something.

Lunch at our favorite restaurant

This is the most coffee I've ever seen my mom drink. So proud.

The 'rents

This was after several hours of walking...and before a couple more!

My mom kind of likes chocolate éclairs :)

Ahhh...Madame Fenet's. So glad your parents were able to come for another visit before you leave. Attaya...I know you love it, and it's meaning; but there's just something strange about consuming gun powder in a beverage! Reminds me of Andy Griffith episode where the goat eats sticks of dynamite.

We usually go to bed at the same time, although we go through short periods occasionally where I go to bed and Scott stays up. We also don't hold hands all the time, but it can be hard in this city.

I love your pictures, and I think you should post more! Love the one of your mom with the chocolate eclair. I can identify with that expression!

i'm jealous you got to hang out with glenn and cile-i mean-your parents. they might even be cooler than you . . . after all they DID give renae her FIRST EVER sip of Coke. so yeah . . they are pretty much top in our book. maybe if you guys didn't hold hands so much you could be cooler.

Did you notice that Glenn and Jonathan are standing in front of the Bar Americain? I'm sure it was a coincidence!

married people habits are funny. i go to bed and read while chad showers then we turn off the light and go to sleep together. every. single. night. those good, sweet habits...they are comforting, aren't they?

love the look on your mom's face as she eats the eclair...bliss.

we never hold hands except when praying. i'm weird about it, can't stand to hold hands EVER. it makes my skin hurt...i know, it makes no sense at all. why chad ever married me is beyond me!

well, we aren't married but Jesse & I hold hands if it's at all possible. i love it, but the really wierd part is that it's usually HIS big idea. the dude is affectionate, and i like it. :)

i think you should write a blog post about the origination of holding hands. it's kind of a wierd thing, and people do it in many countries but not all of them. anyway, sounds like a post you'd write so i thought i'd give you a hint. :)

Your parents look so well and happy (you and Jonathan too :-)). I agree with you, visits sometimes go by way too fast!

So glad you guys had a good time. We always go to bed at the same time. Not the same time each night, just the same time as each other...and always get ready for bed the same way. Totally agree with Mrs. Darling...the comfort of a routine :)

Love you guys!
Kate
